Cedar Creek Golf Course at Beaver's Bend State Park, OK
By Zac Saathoff
The three and a half mile stretch of road from HWY 259 to the Cedar Creek Golf Course Clubhouse set the stage for our round. Golf Course Rd. winds East through the wooded State Park with very little traffic and abundant wildlife. We weren’t surprised when we pulled up to the clubhouse to find only one other car and a sole pairing in front of us. Although it was 9AM on a Sunday, the forecast from the day before called for a chilly and rainy morning. We had been watching GolfNow for a few days and felt comfortable waiting to book the $40 tee time in person at the clubhouse (to save on fees).

The fairways are set within the hills of Beaver's Bend State Park and are tightly lined with varieties of Pine, Oak, Elm, Dogwood, and other trees. Finding a wayward ball proved difficult among the leaves, and punch outs were potentially treacherous. There’s a significant range of elevation from hole to hole, and we found the same to hold true for the greens - many we would describe as anything other than flat. Although some of the tee boxes were in the process of reseeding, we found the majority of the course (tee boxes / fairways / greens) to be in fair condition for early November.
